BUT WHAT IS AN ESTUARY?
An estuary is where the river meets the sea.
An estuary is a body of water where freshwater river meets the oceans, mixing with the sea water. Although estuaries are influenced by tides, they are protected from the full force of ocean waves, winds, and storms due to the mud, sand that surround them. It is the link between land and sea. The channel can reach from 2 to 5 metres deep.
